I took the other half of House in The Woods and let the woods create the entire painting. The light coming through the trees and the rhythm of forms make this interesting.

Here I wanted to increase the contrasts between the house , the woods and the foreground from my original painting. I was less concerned with accuracy and consequently the shapes are more geometrical.

Just East of Pendleton, OR, on I-84, this house shares a view point with travelers. The clouds over the vista were wispy spirals, like cotton. The contrast of the golden grasses with the cobalt sky was striking.
